Global File Maintenance

A number of our clients are already familiar with the Global File maintenance routines but others may not be. The Global File Maintenance routines allow you to make bulk changes to your existing data without the need to update the records one by one. For example, you may want to change the sales rep code against a certain set of customers to another value. Rather than update each record individually, the Global File Maintenance allows you to change them en masse with one simple mouse click by simply specifying the new sales rep code and the range of customers that are to be changed. You could control what customers are changed by selecting customers that have the old sales rep value, or customers that may be in a given territory or state or in any number of different ways. Also, if the table you are updating is being Audited, then any change to the records made by the Global File Maintenance will be recorded for later review. See System Administrator->Maintenance->Global File Maintenance for more details.
